Are you looking for fully funded programs? Applications for the Youth for Energy Futures 2025 are currently open. This program is organized by Virage Énergie and the Heinrich Böll Foundation. Young adults from France, Germany and Italy will have the opportunity to explore the key issues surrounding Europe’s ecological and energy transition. This program in Europe aims to train and connect emerging leaders and decision-makers so they become advocates for a better future. It is a unique opportunity for young adults interested in intercultural exchange.
The current edition of this program for youth revolves around the relationship between gender equality and the energy transition. Participants will explore how the shift to green energy can be used to reduce social and gender inequalities. Similarly, they will also examine how poor policy-making can unintentionally worsen gender inequalities by reinforcing systemic challenges, including energy and transportation poverty. The Heinrich Böll Foundation program will include an expert-led webinar and a study trip to Freiburg (Germany) and Strasbourg (France). During the trip, participants will engage with local policymakers, researchers, civil society representatives and Members of the European Parliament, while also exploring innovative and inspiring projects on-site. Therefore, making Youth for Energy Futures a fantastic training program in Europe.
Moreover, Youth for Energy Futures is open to young adults between 20 and 29 years old and offers various benefits to all. The program will start in September with an online workshop exploring the connections between gender equality and the energy transition. The study trip to Freiburg and Strasbourg will take place from 19 to 24 October. It is a fully funded program. Hence, applicants do not have to worry about financial constraints. All travel, accommodation and meal expenses will be fully funded by the organizers, making participation completely free. In exchange, participants are expected to contribute to the program by producing a podcast that reflects their learning and experiences from the trip. Accommodation will be provided in a shared, non-mixed dormitory with two fellow participants of the same gender.
