Applications are now open for the Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellowship 2026 in Singapore. The Wang Gungwu fellowship programme aims to build the next generation of scholars and policy makers who are interested to explore the center of big-power relations and its impact on Southeast Asia through policy related research on regional economics and digital technology, and international politics and security. The international fellowship program is open to post-doctoral researchers and mid-career policy makers from all over the world.
Visiting Fellows will conduct policy-relevant research in the priority areas such as developments in US-China relations & their impact on Southeast Asia, Asia Pacific security issues, Rise of China & its impact on Southeast Asian communities, Use of digital media & technology by countries, or Progress and prospects of global/regional economic cooperation initiatives. The Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellows Programme is offered to honour the Professor Wang Gungwu. He was the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees at ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute (ISEAS).
The duration of this Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellowship 2026 program is from 2 to 6 months. It is a fully funded fellowship for post-doctoral researchers and mid-career policy makers. The WGW VFP 2026 will provide a fixed monthly stipend for the duration of their WGW fellowship, which includes a housing subsidy. Round-trip economy airfare between participants home country and Singapore will also be provided.
