To achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, Reckitt wants to gather entrepreneurs because they believe that entrepreneurship has a powerful role in solving the world’s greatest challenges.
Access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene are important for public health and these are the basic human rights. However, the progress towards SDG 6 is off-track, and almost 2.2 billion people worldwide still don’t have access to safe drinking water, and 50% of the world’s population faces severe water scarcity yearly. Moreover, 3.5 billion people lack access to safe sanitation. To make this situation better and provide the public with basic human rights, Reckitt has launched the Reckitt Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 6 scholarship. Reckitt has reinstated its commitment towards SDG 6 and they are working tirelessly with local communities, government, NGOs, social enterprises, and other charitable organizations from all over the world to improve access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene for everyone.
The Reckitt Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 6 invites youth-led solutions founded by individuals aged between 18-30. It must align with the SDG6 indicators. The Lead2030 Challenge is looking for innovative solutions that have clear implementation and scale-up plans. The Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 6 offers $50,000 to the winning solution. The competition will also offer a fully funded scholarship to attend the 2025 One Young World Summit in Germany. The winner will also receive 12 months of mentorship from Reckitt professionals. The mentorship team will help the winning team, and they will work to accelerate their solution based on the needs of their initiative or organization. It will provide you with a chance to participate in the OYW Summit for free. This international conference is a fantastic opportunity for youth to showcase innovative solutions.
