Description

Young professionals from the Middle East and North Africa can now apply for the prestigious MENA Scholarship Programme (MSP) 2025/2026 to pursue fully funded short courses in the Netherlands. This unique opportunity is aimed at enhancing capacity building, promoting societal development, and strengthening organizations across eligible countries.

The MSP is funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the Shiraka Programme and managed by Nuffic, the Dutch organization for internationalization in education.

Degree Level

MENA Scholarship Programme (MSP) 2025, Netherlands (Fully Funded) is available to undertake certification course level programs at Netherlands Universities.

Courses Eligible for MSP Scholarships

For 2025:

  1. Integrity and Anti-Corruption
  2. Local Economic Development
  3. Multilevel Water Governance
  4. Gender Responsive Governance
  5. Fiscal Decentralisation and Local Finance
  6. Digital Transformation in the Public Sector

For 2026:

  1. Local Security and Peacebuilding
  2. Citizen Participation and Inclusive Governance
  3. Inclusive Service Delivery and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)
  4. Urban Governance: Resilient and Smart Cities
  5. Local Climate Response
  6. Migration and Local Authorities

Courses are conducted in English and typically last from 2 to 13 weeks.

Eligible Nationalities

You must be a professional working and living in one of these countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, or Tunisia.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Age: You must be 45 years old or younger by the application deadline, plus two weeks.
  2. Work Experience: At least two years of professional experience is required.
  3. Employment: You must not be employed by an organization with its own staff development programs (e.g., international development agencies or large multinational corporations).
  4. Language Proficiency: Strong command of English is required (all programmes are conducted in English).
  5. Employer Support: You must submit a written endorsement from your employer, supporting your participation and the implementation of a Back Home Action Plan.
  6. Priority Areas: Your work must align with one of the thematic focus areas set for your country under the MSP.
