The Klaus Tschira Boost Fund (KTBF) offers a unique funding opportunity to accelerate your academic independence and career growth. Applications for the KT Boost Fund 7 are now open from June 2, 2025 until October 1, 2025.

Degree Level

Klaus Tschira Boost Fund (KTBF) Scholarship 2025, Germany is available to undertake Post Doctorate, Research level programs at Germany Universities.

The Klaus Tschira Boost Fund, jointly organized by GSO e.V. (Guidance, Skills & Opportunities for Researchers) and the Klaus Tschira Stiftung, supports early-career researchers with:

  1. Flexible research funding up to €120,000 over two years
  2. Career development workshops
  3. Personalized coaching and mentoring
  4. Access to the prestigious AlumNode research and leadership network

The goal is to foster independent, risky, and interdisciplinary projects in areas such as:

  1. Biology
  2. Chemistry
  3. Computer Science
  4. Geosciences
  5. Mathematics
  6. Neurosciences
  7. Physics

Eligible Nationalities

Open to international students of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

  1. Be a postdoctoral researcher in a relevant field (natural sciences, math, computer science, or interdisciplinary research)
  2. Have completed your PhD
  3. Propose an independent, high-risk, or interdisciplinary project
  4. Be willing to engage in career development workshops and mentoring
  5. Be affiliated with a German research institution or have a confirmed host

International postdocs are welcome to apply as long as they will be hosted at a German institution.
