Kabale University, in partnership with Mountains of the Moon University (MMU), is excited to announce the SFR2CC Project Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year. This scholarship opportunity, under the project titled “Strengthening Smallholder Farmer Resilience to Climate Change”, aims to empower Ugandan scientists in advancing water management solutions for smallholder farmers through postgraduate research. The SFR2CC project is supported by the Water and Development Partnership Programme of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and is being implemented in collaboration with Kigezi Women in Development (KWID) and Joint Effort to Save the Environment (JESE).

This is an exciting opportunity for early-career Ugandan scientists dedicated to addressing climate change and water resource management challenges in the Rwenzori and Kigezi highland regions.

Degree Level

Kabale University Uganda SFR2CC Project Scholarship 2025 is available to undertake Masters level programs at Kabale University.

Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to domestic students only.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following basic requirements:

  1. Nationality: Applicants must be Ugandan nationals and permanent residents.
  2. Age Limit:

a- Male applicants: Must be under 35 years old.

b- Female applicants: Must be under 40 years old.

  1. Academic Qualifications: Applicants must have at least a second-class upper degree or better in Environmental, Biological, Agricultural, or Natural Sciences (or equivalent).
  2. Admission Requirement: Applicants must have an admission letter to the MSc Environment and Natural Resources program at Kabale University.

  1. Completed Scholarship Application Form
  2. Motivation Letter: A typed letter (maximum 1 page) explaining why you are a good candidate for the scholarship.
  3. Curriculum Vitae (CV): Maximum of 2 pages.
  4. Recommendation Letter: From an employer or academic referee.
  5. Academic Transcripts and Certificates: Certified copies of all relevant academic documents.
  6. National ID, Passport, or Birth Certificate: A certified copy for identity verification.
