Description

The Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), through its Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (ICE-HT) in Patras, Greece, has announced a competitive PhD fellowship opportunity for qualified candidates interested in research related to the physicochemical characterization of materials and water. This position is part of the FUSION (Minimizing Food Loss and Waste, Promoting Food Security in the Mediterranean) Project, under the EU-supported PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) program.

Degree Level

FORTH Greece PhD Fellowship 2025 for FUSION project is available to undertake PhD, Fellowship level programs at Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH).

  • Physicochemical Characterization

Benefits

  1. Duration: Up to 6 months (renewable based on project needs)
  2. Stipend: Up to €840 per month (based on qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

The selected fellow will:

  1. Conduct high-level research under the FUSION project scope
  2. Focus on physicochemical analysis of water and materials
  3. Use advanced characterization tools such as TGA, XPS, and BET
  4. Work with plasma technology setups
  5. Collaborate within an interdisciplinary and international research environment

Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to applicants of all nationalities with fluency in Greek Language.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Hold a BSc in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
  2. Have a MSc in a relevant discipline
  3. Be a registered PhD candidate in a recognized institution
  4. Demonstrate experience with plasma technology and material/water characterization techniques
  5. Be fluent in Greek and possess at least B2-level English proficiency
