Finnair, the flag carrier of Finland, has announced the launch of its first regular flights from Helsinki to Kos in summer 2026, expanding the airline’s network to the Dodecanese islands.
Until now, Kos was served only through Finnair’s charter program, but the island will soon be part of the airline’s seasonal schedule.
Starting May 2, 2026, Finnair will operate two weekly flights between Helsinki and Kos, continuing until October 24, 2026. The route is part of the airline’s broader expansion in Southern Europe, which also adds scheduled services to Catania, Florence, and Valencia.
“Italy, Spain, and Greece are particularly popular with our Finnish and Northern European customers during the summer months,” said Christine Rovelli, Finnair’s Chief Revenue Officer. “The new destinations complement our Southern European network, offering both beach holidays and cultural experiences, with a travel season that extends from spring to autumn.”
With the addition of Kos, Finnair strengthens its presence in Greece, complementing existing routes to Chania, Heraklion, Rhodes, and Santorini.
The new connection is expected to attract more visitors from Finland and Northern Europe to Kos, renowned for its sandy beaches, family-friendly resorts, and rich cultural heritage.
The 2026 summer season, running from March 29 to October 31, gives Northern European travelers ample time to enjoy Greece’s destinations.
