The Finnish authorities have announced that they will temporarily accept student residence permit applications from Pakistanis in Doha, Qatar.
Under the current rules, Pakistani students need to travel to Abu Dhabi, UAE, for their identification appointments.
However, to facilitate the identification process for Pakistani students facing difficulties in entering the UAE, Finland has decided to accept such applications at the VFS Doha from July 9 until August 6, Schengen.News reports.
To facilitate the swift identification process for Pakistani students facing issues to enter the United Arab Emirates, the MFA of Finland accepts student residence permit applications at the VFS Doha, Qatar, during a limited period from July 9th until August 6th.
As the Embassy noted, Pakistani students who are on the waiting list of VFS Abu Dhabi have been automatically scheduled to undergo their identification appointment at the VFS Doha. Those concerned will be directly contacted by the Embassy.
As for students who have already secured an appointment at VFS Abu Dhabi but want to reschedule it at the VFS Doha, they have been instructed to contact the Embassy of Finland in Abu Dhabi by July 11.
Please note that appointment bookings for VFS Doha after Friday, July 11th, will not be accepted.
If there are available student appointment slots at VFS Doha, Pakistani students will be contacted and provided with instructions.
Offered Appointments Can’t Be Rescheduled, Embassy Stressed
While the Embassy has decided to offer appointments in Doha, it stressed that the offered slots can’t be rescheduled as there is a very high demand and limited availability.
Those who are not able to accept their offered slot at VFS Doha will need to book a new appointment at VFS Abu Dhabi and travel there to complete the procedures.
The offered appointment slot at VFS Doha cannot be rescheduled due to the high volumes and limited slots. Thus, if you will not accept the offered slot at VFS Doha, you will need to book new appointment at VFS Abu Dhabi.
Lastly, the Embassy clarified that the residence permit card of Pakistani students will be delivered to the Finnish Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The latter will let the students know when their permits are ready, and they can choose the delivery options.
To have a smooth and quick identification at VFS Doha, Pakistani students have been required to pay the residence permit fee online before their appointment.
