The Port of Corfu has been ranked among the world’s top cruise destinations by travel insurance company Compare the Market Australia, attracting travelers with its accessibility and safety.
To identify the world’s top cruise destinations, the company’s experts developed an index that ranks the most frequented cruise ports worldwide, comparing them across seven key factors such as user review scores, activities per capita, annual precipitation, and more.
Ranking 20th, Corfu Port received a score of 4.2 out of 5, highlighting travelers’ positive experiences. In addition, with 194 activities available on the island per 100,000 passengers, Corfu stands out as a leading destination for cultural and recreational experiences.
“The Port of Corfu has established itself as one of the top cruise destinations, and we will continue to work with dedication and vision to develop a port that serves as an international model — modern, safe, and welcoming to visitors,” said Corfu Port Authority CEO Dimitris Apergis.
Favorable weather also contributed to the distinction, with clear visibility of about 11 kilometers and mild winds, ensuring safe cruise ship arrivals and enhancing the visitor experience.
Mina Rashid claimed the top spot in the index, thanks largely to its leading number of activities per 100,000 visitors. Travelers can typically expect sunny, warm weather with little annual rainfall, while the port also scored strongly in online user reviews.
Canada’s ports of Victoria and Quebec ranked 2nd and 3rd, while in Europe, Oslo, Split, Cartagena, Lisbon, Venice, and Madeira rounded out the top 10.
