Helsinki-based company Bob W, known for its stylish short-stay apartments across Europe, has signed a long-term lease for a former office building in Athens as part of its ongoing expansion.
Founded in 2018, Bob W has steadily grown its presence in major European cities, including London, Amsterdam, and Madrid, with plans to expand to Stockholm, Rome, Vienna, and Paris, among other destinations.
Bob W’s latest deal in Athens follows a lease agreement with developer-landlord Blend Development for a building located at 54 Stadiou Street – a prime location in the historic city center, close to major landmarks and transport links.
The former office building will be renamed Bob W Stadiou and will undergo a full conversion into premium serviced apartments. The new property will combine tech-driven convenience, sustainable design, and a hyper-local guest experience.
Bob W Stadiou will be the company’s third property in Athens, joining Bob W Akadimia and Bob W Eolou. The agreement further strengthens Bob W’s European expansion, bringing its total number of units to over 5,000 across the continent.

According to Niko Karstikko, Co-founder & CEO of Bob W, securing such a prime location on Stadiou Street marks an important milestone in Bob W’s ambitious pan-European growth strategy.
“We believe in Athens – and Greece more broadly – as a long-term viable market at the heart of our Mediterranean strategy,” Karstikko said, commenting on the expansion. “That’s why we’re excited to announce our third property in Athens, with many more to come in the years ahead.”
Work at the Stadiou Street site has already begun, with Bob W Stadiou set to welcome its first guests this winter. The refurbishment will focus on enhancing the building’s energy efficiency, incorporating modern insulation, energy-saving lighting, and water-efficient features – all powered by 100 percent renewable electricity.
According to reports, the investment is valued at 25 million euros.

Paris D. Kallitsantsis, Managing Director at Blend Development, said the project would play a key role in revitalizing Stadiou Street and the wider city center.
“As demand for high-quality serviced apartments continues to grow, we see this collaboration as an important step in delivering innovative hospitality solutions that meet the evolving needs of modern travelers,” Kallitsantsis said.
It’s worth noting that last September, Blend Development completed the acquisition of two additional properties at 74 Syggrou Avenue and 30 Peiraios & Geraniou Streets.
The property at 74 Syggrou Avenue will be converted into a four-star, 2,300-square-meter hotel featuring 50 rooms and two dining areas. Its listed façade will also be restored to its original condition. The property at 30 Peiraios & Geraniou Streets, acquired by Prodea Investments, will be transformed into a 32-room accommodation with retail space on the ground floor. Work is already underway, with the property expected to open in the third quarter of 2025.
