NAP – ONEWAYWEST, NB – GWENNIE MAY JEM, NB – KNOCKNAGORAN LADY

A huge day of racing sees the first days after the Cheltenham Festival. Some big rides for the big guns this week, including ONEWAYWEST (NAP), who looks to take a massive stride forward at Footwell. This lightly raced maiden fell on her handicap debut and wasn’t seen again for 12 months, when running well at Windsor to pick up a huge 2nd at 2m4f. Good to Soft was then beaten heavily but had come back with a heavy wound. Should be up for this run, having been off since January, and the ground should be a plus.

Doubling this up with GWENNIE MAY JEM (NB), a 5yo maiden for Dan and Harry Skelton. A pair who had a difficult Cheltenham look to get a winner in this small field. I ran a creditable 2nd at Leicester back in February at 2m and finished 13l in from of HAREL DU MARAIS, who is also in this race and is very effective on good ground, so I should be in the frame once again.

I really like one over in Ireland: KNOCKNAGORAN LADY (NB) running at Down Royal. She ran very well at Cork, finishing a creditable 3rd in December. Later, she was upped in trip to 2m7f at Punchestown, which seemed to stretch her limits. This run back down to 2m4f will make her one to consider over her best trip and on ground that will certainly put her ahead of others in this field.
