US carrier American Airlines will launch a new Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW)–Athens (ATH) route in summer 2026, expanding its presence in Greece with a fifth daily flight to the Greek capital.

Starting May 21, 2026, the Dallas–Athens route will make DFW the airline’s fifth U.S. hub offering nonstop service to the city — giving American the most nonstop connections between Greece and U.S. cities of any carrier.

The new route will be served as follows:

“The launch of the Athens–Dallas/Fort Worth route, which will connect the Greek capital with American Airlines’ largest U.S. hub starting next summer, marks yet another important step in strengthening our transatlantic connectivity,” said Ioanna Papadopoulou, Director of Communications & Marketing at  Athens International Airport (AIA).

She noted that Dallas — a major hub in the heart of Texas known for its strong business, cultural, and sports identity — will offer travelers even more options with American’s premium offering.

Earlier this year, American launched a new route connecting Athens with Charlotte, which is set to return in 2026 along with seasonal services to Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia.

“With this route, our customers in Athens will also have access to our largest U.S. hub in Dallas–Fort Worth, from where they can explore more than 225 destinations across the U.S. and beyond,” said José A. Freig, Vice President – International and Inflight Dining Operations.

As part of its transatlantic expansion, American will launch new service to Prague and add routes to Budapest, Milan, and Zurich. In summer 2026, it will operate nonstop flights to 11 European cities from Dallas–Fort Worth — the most ever from the hub.

Tickets for the new summer 2026 routes will be available starting August 11 via the airline’s website and mobile app.
