Greece continues to attract strong interest from Cypriot travelers, with arrivals rising by 8.9 percent in February 2025 compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).
The increase was highlighted following the GNTO’s participation in the 26th Travel Expo Cyprus 2025, held in Nicosia from April 25–27. The organization described the growth as “a testament to both the enduring appeal of Greece as a destination and the steady travel flow between the two countries”.
During the expo, GNTO representatives held meetings with major players in Cyprus’s tourism sector, who confirmed consistent demand for travel to Greece throughout the year.

With a focus on promoting Greece as an accessible, authentic, and multifaceted destination, the GNTO participated alongside regional and municipal partners. Co-exhibitors included the regions of Central Greece, North Aegean, the Ionian Islands, Central Macedonia, and Epirus, as well as the municipalities of Volos and Patmos and a hotel from Halkidiki.
Spotlight on Central Greece’s wine heritage
Among GNTO’s priorities was the promotion of Central Greece’s cultural and natural attractions, particularly its wine tourism offerings — a growing area of interest for international travelers.

Additionally, the GNTO’s Cyprus office hosted a networking event bringing together Greek and Cypriot political, religious, and tourism leaders. Discussions centered on strengthening bilateral tourism flows, exchanging expertise, and promoting alternative tourism forms.
Organized annually by the Association of Cyprus Travel & Tourism Agents and Display Art Group, Travel Expo Cyprus is a key event for Cypriot travelers seeking inspiration for summer holidays and year-round getaways.
