Eligibility Criteria

This program is open to senior-level researchers (preferably at R4 level) who meet the following criteria:

  1. Active affiliation with a foreign university or research institution (at application and during fellowship)
  2. A PhD awarded at least 6 years prior to application
  3. An outstanding international publication record in the social sciences or humanities
  4. A clear plan to collaborate with a UA Ruhr academic (“tandem partner”)

Important: Applicants must secure a UA Ruhr tandem partner before applying. This ensures meaningful scholarly collaboration during the fellowship period.
