The Electra Hotels & Resorts group will open its newest property, Electra Rhythm Athens, on May 9, in the heart of Athens.

Located on Ermou Street, just steps from Syntagma Square, the hotel marks the company’s return to the building where it launched its first hotel over 60 years ago.

The opening comes as the Electra Group celebrates its 60th anniversary, and reflects the company’s evolution toward modern hospitality concepts. The renovated property introduces a contemporary, design-forward hotel aimed at today’s urban traveler.

Electra Rhythm Athens features 101 rooms across four categories – Nest, Cozy, Slow, and Active – designed for both short and extended stays. The property combines Athenian character with functional minimalism, and emphasizes flexibility, community, and local connection.

Three new venues within the hotel will be open to guests and the public:

Focal Rooftop Restaurant, offering creative Greek cuisine and Acropolis views
Rebels Brew, an all-day spot serving specialty coffee, Greek beers, and modern comfort food
Collaborative Studios, flexible work and meeting spaces for professionals and visitors

The hotel also includes the Electro Studio Gym, and reflects a lifestyle hospitality model aimed at blending accommodation, gastronomy, and creative space under one roof.

According to the group, the redesign involved a holistic approach – from architectural concept to branding – with the goal of delivering a cohesive, experience-driven hotel that aligns with modern travel and urban living trends.

The building originally opened in 1965 as the first Electra hotel.

According to the group’s management, its transformation into Electra Rhythm Athens represents a symbolic renewal of the group’s historic flagship.

The property aims to strengthen Electra’s presence in the Athens city center and add a new rhythm to its hospitality portfolio – one rooted in its history but adapted for the next generation of guests.
