Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is open to young professionals from developing countries (DAC-listed) who meet all of the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree completed within the last 6 years (before October 2025)
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience post-graduation (volunteering/internships not accepted)
- A strong academic record (top third of class)
- Must have not resided in Germany for more than 15 months prior to the application
- Must demonstrate genuine need for a second Master’s (if already holding one)
- Must meet MEG programme admission criteria and DAAD requirements
Note: Academic research or teaching roles are not generally considered valid work experience for this scholarship, except in exceptional cases.
Application Procedure

Required Documents (All in one PDF):
- DAAD Application Form (with matching information across all application materials)
- MEG Application Form
- Letter of Motivation (as per MEG Guidelines, max 2 pages, with date of issue)
- If applying to multiple EPOS programmes, a second motivation letter is required.
- CV in Europass format (no gaps, reverse chronological order, with date of issue)
- Transcript of Records with final grade, grading scale, and certified translation (if needed)
- University Degree Certificate (Bachelor’s and Master’s if applicable)
- Work Experience Certificate(s) (stating exact dates on official letterhead, with signature and stamp)
- Two Recommendation Letters
- One from current employer (DAAD requirement)
- One from an academic supervisor (MEG requirement)
- English Language Certificate
- Accepted tests: TOEFL iBT (min. 95), IELTS (Band 7), Cambridge C1, PTE (score 76)
- Must be valid at time of application or test must be scheduled no later than October 15
- Signed DAAD Checklist (must be signed by hand, not digital)
- APS Certificate (only for applicants from China, India, Vietnam; can be submitted later)
Application Deadline:
The application deadline is October 15, 2025, for students beginning their studies in October 2026.

- All documents must be merged into a single compressed PDF
- Reference letters must be emailed by the referee directly
- Final shortlisted candidates will be notified in January 2026 and invited for an interview
- Final scholarship results will be announced by mid-February 2026
