The Paros-Antiparos Hoteliers Association recently deepened its collaboration with local producers, highlighting the crucial role of local production in enhancing the tourism experience on the islands of Paros and Antiparos. This initiative aligns with efforts to promote sustainable tourism development.
The working meeting, organized in collaboration with the Rural Welfare Committee of the Municipality of Paros, brought together tourism professionals and local agricultural producers.
The goal was to foster stronger communication and cooperation between the two sectors by showcasing their work and exploring potential synergies.

The association highlighted the importance of this partnership, noting that the union of tourism and local production is vital for the islands’ long-term, sustainable development. Discussions centered around how both industries could mutually benefit, strengthening the local economy and enhancing the islands’ unique cultural and gastronomic identity.
Producers were given the opportunity to present their products, voice concerns, and propose ideas for future collaborations. In turn, the hoteliers’ association shared valuable insights into the islands’ hospitality sector, detailing the available hotel infrastructure and the distinctive features of the tourism offering of both islands.
Prominent experts in tourism development, Professor Paris Tsartas from Harokopio University and Associate Professor Efthymia Sarantakou from the University of West Attica, participated actively in the discussions. They provided valuable perspectives on current tourism trends and the importance of integrating local resources into tourism strategies.
Paros Mayor Konstantinos Bizas also attended the meeting, presenting the municipality’s initiatives aimed at strengthening the primary sector and fostering closer ties between local production and tourism. He underlined that local products should be seen as an “integral part of the tourist experience”, offering visitors an authentic taste of Paros and Antiparos.
The Paros-Antiparos Hoteliers Association expressed its commitment to supporting partnerships that will enhance the local economy and further promote sustainable tourism development on the islands.
