The interdisciplinary theme for the upcoming academic year is:
“Research on the Baltic Sea Region – From Culture to Ecology”
However, applicants from all research fields are welcome to apply. Projects will be assessed based on their scholarly excellence and connection with the University of Greifswald.

Junior Fellows are expected to:
- Be granted leave of absence by their institution for the duration of the fellowship
If the applicant’s home institution can co-fund the research stay, details should be included in the application.

Alfried Krupp Senior Fellowships
Open to:
- Experienced, internationally recognized scholars with outstanding achievements in both research and teaching.
Alfried Krupp Junior Fellowships

Both German and international scholars are eligible to apply.
Fellowship Duration
Fellows may choose between two types of stays:
- 6 months: Either from October 1 to March 31 or April 1 to September 30
- 12 months: Full academic year from October 1 to September 30
