Teenage sensation and reigning world champion Luke Littler has been awarded an MBE in the kings honours list for his services to the sport of darts.
The 18-year-old has revolutionised the sport, raising the profile of the game among millions of people – especially amongst the younger generation.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Littler said: “I’m very happy for myself. I didn’t think I’d ever receive one.
“I’m happy, my family is happy, and I can’t wait to receive it.”
Recognition For A Dominant Duo
Littler isn’t the only darts start to be recognised this year.
World number one Luke Humphries has also been made an MBE, further underlying the dominance of the two men currently leading the sport.

“I’m incredibly proud. It’s obviously a proud moment for my family as well,” Humphries said.
“When I got the letter it was quite unexpected for me.
“It’s not something I was thinking about so soon in my career.”
The Ones To Beat
Humphries and Littler have taken control of the world of darts, delivering consistent high-level performances week in week out, setting a new benchmark of excellence in the game.
Later today, the two will team up for England in the World Cup of Darts, facing off against the German duo of Ricardo Pietreczko and Martin Schindler in the round of 16.
The pair will aim to win England their sixth World Cup – and further cement their dominance in the sport.
