Christine and Ian Bolt Scholarship 2025, USA is available to undertake Postgraduate level programs at University of Kent.

Each selected scholar will receive:

Eligible Nationalities

Open to applicants of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Hold an excellent academic record:

a- Bachelor’s degree (First Class or Upper Second/2:1) OR

b- Master’s degree (Merit or Distinction)

  1. Have a confirmed offer or be a current student at the University of Kent
  2. Be enrolled in one of the following divisions:

Kent Law School

School of Arts and Architecture

School of Humanities

School of Psychology

The Language Centre

School of Social Sciences

Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (within the School of Natural Sciences)

  1. Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  2. Clearly explain the project to a non-specialist audience
  3. Show passion and relevance of the project to wider communities
  4. Act as an academic ambassador for both the University and their subject area

Who Should Apply?

This scholarship is ideal for postgraduate students at Kent whose research:

  1. Has an American component
  2. Requires research in the United States (e.g., archives, expert access, or fieldwork)
  3. Involves transatlantic academic collaboration

Preference is given to students without prior extended experience in the USA.

Application Procedure

Application Requirements

All applications must be submitted through the Kent Vision Portal before the deadline. Required documents include:

  1. Research Proposal (~2,000 words)
  2. CV
  3. Cover Letter:

  5. Names of two referees
  6. Proposed Budget Plan for the scholarship usage
  7. Two Academic References:
  8. On official letterhead
  9. Must address the applicant’s academic suitability
