Ariadni Diamanti: I was born in Athens but was lucky enough to be raised on the island of Kythnos, where nature isn’t just something you admire – it’s something you live with. I grew up barefoot in saltcedar trees, among wild herbs and the sea breeze, absorbing a kind of wisdom that only the land can teach. That early connection stayed with me. Later, I studied chemistry to better understand what I had always felt instinctively – that nature holds the answers. Over time, I realized that Greece, the birthplace of holistic wellness, had no real presence in the world of luxury spa experiences. That became my mission: to give our heritage a voice through innovation.
- GTP: You’ve created something truly unique with Ariadne Athens. When and how did it all begin – and how would you describe the soul of the brand to someone discovering it for the first time?
Ariadni Diamanti: Ariadne Athens was born from a deep need – not to invent something new, but to restore something that had been overlooked. I saw luxury spas in Greece using foreign brands disconnected from our land and culture. I wanted to change that. Ariadne Athens is where Greek nature, ancestral rituals, and modern science come together. The soul of the brand is authenticity. It’s about reconnecting to our roots and offering beauty that is real, honest, and deeply transformative.
- GTP: What inspired you to merge ancestral Greek remedies with cutting-edge biotechnology? Was there a specific moment that made you realize there was a gap in the luxury spa industry for a truly Greek-born brand?
Ariadni Diamanti: Yes – there was a moment that changed everything. I stepped into a five-star spa in Greece and realized that there was nothing Greek about the experience. That was my turning point. I had the knowledge from chemistry, the love for Greek nature, and the passion to innovate. I felt a responsibility to show that true luxury can be both rooted and revolutionary. Merging ancient remedies with biotechnology wasn’t just an idea – it was the only way to do justice to our story.
- GTP: Ariadne Athens is the first skincare brand to introduce ingredients like Cretan saffron and oak flour. Could you tell us more about your approach to sourcing and innovating with native Greek botanicals?
Ariadni Diamanti: We don’t treat ingredients as trends – we treat them as treasures. We work closely with local farmers and communities to harvest native botanicals with care and respect. Cretan saffron, oak flour, Chios mastic… these aren’t just ingredients – they’re part of our heritage. We study them in the lab, extract their full potential, and transform them into high-performance active skincare ingredients, produced exclusively in Greece. From the field, to our lab, to the luxurious spa rituals – our blends are not only powerful for the skin but soothing for the mind. It’s a blend of storytelling, science and soul.
- GTP: The treatments you offer – like the Wine Harvest Ritual and the Loutron Byzantine Bath Ceremony – are deeply immersive. How do you develop these signature spa experiences, and what do they aim to awaken in the guest?
Ariadni Diamanti: We design every treatment as a journey through Greek history, nature, and inner well-being. The Loutron Bath revives ancient purification rituals with a modern sensorial twist, while the Wine Harvest Ritual draws on the antioxidant richness of our legendary vineyards. These aren’t just treatments – they’re emotional and sensory awakenings that help guests truly feel Greece, beyond the surface. We also create bespoke therapies inspired by each destination’s natural elements, using local ingredients to connect guests to the soul of the place. The aim is always the same: to rebalance and renew from the inside out, activating the body’s own healing mechanisms for results that are both immediate and lasting.

Ariadni Diamanti: We’ve seen strong interest from Europe and the Middle East, and we’re growing fast in the United States and Asia. What’s exciting is that people everywhere are seeking more than just skincare – they want meaning and a story. There’s a shift from superficial beauty to holistic self-care. Ariadni Diamanti: Every ingredient we use is sourced with care from small farms, cooperatives, and family producers across Greece. This supports rural communities and keeps traditional knowledge alive. Our packaging is sustainable and we offer refillable options to reduce waste. For us, sustainability isn’t a trend – it’s an extension of who we are as a Greek brand, and a commitment to future generations.
- GTP: Your formulas have received global recognition and are used in high-end spas around the world. What has been one of the most rewarding moments since launching Ariadne Athens?
Ariadni Diamanti: There have been many beautiful milestones. We’re incredibly proud of our partnership with the first women-only holistic member’s club in Abu Dhabi – a seven-floor spa called Kintsugi. But nothing compares to the feeling of seeing our products back home, astonishing guests in some of the most beautiful spas in Greece. One unforgettable moment was in a luxury spa on Santorini, when a guest told us: “I’ve never felt something so authentic and luxurious at the same time.” That’s what makes everything worth it.
- GTP: What’s next? Are there any upcoming product lines, treatments, or collaborations you’re excited to share with us?
Ariadni Diamanti: Apart from our new distinguished collaborations with iconic hotels such as the Dexamenes Seaside Hotel in the Peloponnese and our brand new and so summery Spa Product Collections, we are truly excited to share some transformative developments at Ariadne Athens. We are currently in the process of launching a groundbreaking new signature massage, developed in collaboration with a renowned Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Doctor. This innovative treatment is thoughtfully designed to meet individual needs, beautifully intertwining the wisdom of ancient Greek healing traditions with contemporary therapeutic practices.
