Freshman Guaranteed Scholarships 2025 — Partial Funding for Undergraduates

Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is offering a range of Freshman Guaranteed Scholarships for academically talented students enrolling in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026. These merit-based scholarships reward students based on their ACT or SAT scores and cumulative high school GPA, with awards up to $6,000 per year for up to eight semesters (four years).

Note: SAT scores are accepted as equivalents (conversion chart available). MTSU does not consider super-scores; only the highest official composite score submitted by the deadline will be evaluated.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be a first-time, incoming freshman enrolling for Summer or Fall 2025

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

  • Submit a completed application for admission at mtsu.edu/apply

  • Have the following documents on file with the Admissions Office by December 1, 2024 (or by August 1, 2025 for extended consideration):

    • Admissions application and fee (or fee waiver)

    • Official ACT or SAT scores (excluding writing sub-scores)

    • 6th-semester high school transcript showing GPA (7th-semester transcripts may also be accepted if submitted on time)

Scholarship Renewal

The scholarships are renewable for up to eight semesters (four years) provided that students:

  • Maintain full-time enrollment each Fall and Spring semester

  • Keep a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00

  • Remain continuously enrolled without breaks

  • Renewal eligibility is reviewed after every Fall and Spring semester

Additional Information

  • Scholarships cannot be combined with other guaranteed or departmental MTSU scholarships

  • Weighted GPAs are accepted if officially listed on transcripts

  • Students with a GED or HiSET are not eligible

  • Scholarships do not cover summer enrollment

  • Applicants must be EVEA verified to confirm lawful U.S. presence

  • Students can receive both a university scholarship and the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship

  • Scholarship amounts may be adjusted if total financial aid exceeds the Cost of Attendance (COA)
