We’re headed for the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff and there’s a new team at the top of the board to win it all.
Let’s check out the national title odds from DraftKings Sportsbook as of Jan. 5.
CFP NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS:
Ohio State Buckeyes: -110 (bet $10 to win $19.09 total)
Notre Dame Fighting Irish: +390 (bet $10 to win $49 total)
Texas Longhorns: +425 (bet $10 to win $52.50 total)
Penn State Nittany Lions: +550 (bet $10 to win $65 total)
The Buckeyes moved to the top of the oddsboard after trampling Oregon 41-21 in the Rose Bowl, and they’re now the lone favorites to take home the national title.
“That performance early in that game was an overwhelming performance in a positive fashion from the Buckeyes,” FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt said after the game.
“If they play that way, this team is the best team in the country.”
The Texas Longhorns were the favorites before the Jan. 1 games kicked off. But after needing two overtimes to defeat Arizona State 39-31, their odds moved slightly from +330 to +320.
On Thursday, they sat at +380, tied in second with Notre Dame, but Texas has since dropped to third, at +425.
The Fighting Irish are now the lone second choice at +390. They knocked off Georgia 23-10 in the final CFP quarterfinal matchup on Thursday.
Fourth on the board are the Nittany Lions, whose odds are at +550 after beating third-seeded Boise State 31-14 on Tuesday night.
After Notre Dame’s win over Georgia, none of the top four teams in the CFP bracket are still standing, and not a single conference champion remains.
